This is the set needed to get the Dream Machine Tele sound of Van Nuys days Schecters out of any T-style guitar.
It includes the two "Walk of Life" tapped Tele pickups (made for us by Haeussel pickups), and the pre-wired control plate with the push/pull switches required for tapping the pickups, the right tone condenser, pots, and 3-way switch.
Needless to say that the details of the control plate are like the original Dream Machines: the plate itself is made of brass - chrome plated or clear-coated brass finish - (should not make much sound difference to steel, but well, it is the made the way it was ...), original CRL 3-way switch, brass soldering plate, pot and condenser values, even the colour of the wires... (Note: the original square Allen Bradley push/pull potis are not available anymore, neither are any similar ones. Instead we use high-quality pots from Bourns - Schecter's other pot manufacturer.)
The set can be combined with a metal pickguard - important for the sound of the pickups. You can find the matching pickguard in
white aluminium or
clear-coated brass here.
To ultimately get the sound, it is highly recommend to combine this set with the
Walk of Life bridge made of bell brass.
